30 years of supporting victims and survivors!
30 years of supporting survivors!
2019 is CARA's 30th year supporting victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse.
To celebrate, we are planning some exciting activities and events to take place across the year. We would love you to join us in our celebration!
We want to raise £30,000 for 30 years!
Demand for CARA's services has trebled over the last three years and we need to secure funding to enable us to respond to the many victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse who need our support - now and in the future. To help us to meet demand for our services, and as part of our strategy to establish a secure financial base for CARA going forwards, we want to raise a total of £30,000 over the year to support our work.
There are a number of ways that you can get involved and support CARA in our 30th year. You can:
Join us for a CARA event. More details to follow! Or you can sign up to get regular updates on CARA events and activities by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Make a one-off or regular donation to support CARA's work. This can be as little or as much as you can afford, every donation helps! You could also ask your friends, colleagues or family to donate to CARA too. Find out more making a donation to CARA here.
Organise an event for CARA. This could be a coffee morning, concert, party or just about any sort of event! You can get some ideas here.
Take on a challenge for CARA. Sponsored runs, bike rides, head shaves, weight loss or just about any other challenge can be a great way to raise money for CARA. You can find out more here!
Get your school, workplace, community group or place of worship to support CARA. More details here.
CARA's 30th year represents a huge milestone in our development as an organisation. Over the last 30 years CARA has grown from a small, grassroots charity, run entirely by volunteers supporting women in Colchester into a much larger organisation. CARA today provides a wide range of services to victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse of all ages and all genders across mid and north Essex and Uttlesford. You can read about CARA's history and development here, and about how we have maintained our ethos as a feminist organisation here.
We want to celebrate our history and our achievements over the last 30 years! And most of all we want to ensure that CARA can continue to support victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse well into the future.
Thank you for supporting us in our 30th year!
