Self-Care Tips

Ann shares a summer self-care tip

Its summertime soon and we can all now try our best to make the most of the sun when it decides to show itself. So when anyone mentions fitness we can all tend to recoil in horror.

However “Fitness” doesn’t have to mean intense, exhausting, hour-long workouts. Instead, it just means simply moving as much as possible and living less sedentary. True self-care is not about pushing yourself to the limit or reaching exhaustion but rather about just doing more of what you know makes your body feel good.

One of the best parts of summer is that for many, walking more is not only possible, but it’s also pleasant. Cue up your favourite summer playlist or a new podcast episode and vow to walk everywhere (at least) within a one-mile radius.

Also, how about making some great non-alcoholic cocktails that save us from feeling awful after drinking too many! My favourite one is:

Blood orange mojito

  • Put lime wedges into the base of 2 glasses. Add a few mint leaves (reserving the remaining sprigs to garnish) and 1 tsp sugar to each glass. Muddle together with a cocktail muddler if you have one or the end of a rolling pin.
  • Add crushed ice to each glass, then pour over the orange juice and give a good stir to ensure the sugar dissolves.
  • Top with a little sparkling water and garnish the mojito with the reserved mint sprigs. Serve immediately

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do and enjoy your summer while it lasts!
