Ann makes some podcast recommendations
What horrible weather we have had in January and February! It’s amazing how much the weather effects our moods and gives us even more reason over winter to want to stay in and hide indoors. But spring will soon be on it's way and will hopefully allow us to shake off the last couple of dreary months.
To escape the weather, over the last few months I have been following the journeys and stories of people whose world is completely different to my own on YouTube.
I have two particular recommendations:
The first is a man called Brett, you can find him on @brettmanvalleyvan ... he is currently driving his van through Morocco with some of his friends. He's a gentle and kind soul who embraces his life and is always finding ways to improve his mental wellbeing, finding peace in nature. He is fascinating to watch and always makes me chuckle, especially with his enthusiasm about the weather as soon as he wakes up. He uploads two videos a week and it truly is amazing watching his freedom and love for life.
The second is a podcast called Strangers on a Bench. In this charmingly candid podcast, singer songwriter Tom Rosenthal approaches strangers sitting on a bench, and asks if he can join them for a friendly chat. He meets so many fascinating people and Tom really embraces the stories of all the people he meets. It really is a wonderful podcast, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Social media can be a challenging place, but some corners are rich with care, lovely stories and people showing us a different life version to our own, providing some wonderful escapism.
Enjoy!
