Self-Care Tips

Ann gives us some Autumn self-care ideas to keep us healthy

When the warm, summer evenings disappear and cooler temperatures arrive, it’s tempting to spend more time indoors. However, getting outside and spending time in nature can be a fantastic form of self-care. What’s more – the crisp autumn days are perfect for long walks or bike rides.

Sometimes, there’s nothing better than snuggling down on the sofa and treating yourself to a back-to-back viewing of your favourite films. With popcorn and snacks, you can make a real night of it and relax without letting any worries intrude on your time. Whether you’re a fan of comedies, a horror movie buff or you’re looking for the best family films, there are endless options to choose from.

If you’re struggling to manage your time or you regularly feel overwhelmed, it’s time to reassess your boundaries. No matter how much you want to help other people, taking on too much will inevitably have a negative impact on your well-being. Learning to say ‘no’, and feeling comfortable doing so, is an essential lesson we all need to overcome. Establishing new boundaries may feel tricky at first but you’ll soon notice the positive effect it has on your outlook and your life.

By asking for help when you need it, setting firm boundaries and putting yourself first, you can identify the areas of your life that you’d like to change. Similarly, you can begin to understand the things and people that are most important to you. By doing so, you’ll enjoy a whole new outlook on life and be able to enjoy each and every day.
