Self-Care Tips

Ann suggests some escapism during the evenings

Sometimes evening times can be difficult and during these times we can feel really lost in frightening thoughts.  At these times it is very useful to have something to visualise as escapism.

•             Go into a travel agents and pick up every magazine you can get, particularly the most exotic places that you would go to if you won the lottery.

•             Get a scrap book and each evening in bed sit and look through all of the images and choose a destination that you feel at that time that you would love to go to.

•             Ask yourself three questions:

       - Why have you chosen this destination?

       - What would you feel like when you are there?

       - Are you alone there or with someone, and who would this person be?

I have found that this has often helped people sleep as they have visualised something that has managed for a short time to let them escape, and that this beautiful image will be the last one they see before falling asleep.
