Self-Care Tips

 

Ann describes a very useful grounding technique to help anybody having a flashback or panic attack

 

Get one fresh whole lemon and cut into quarters

•             Place cling film around each quarter

•             Put one bit in your handbag for when out and about, and one next to the bed for at night

•             When you feel you are experiencing a feeling of being out of control and panic sets in, bite into the lemon

•             This instantly grounds you, the shock from the lemon and the sour taste stops the brain's over-activating thoughts and causes all of the panic to stop

 

This technique is one that several of my clients have been using recently, and they are really benefiting from it, finding that their panic attacks seem to be occurring less frequently than before.
