Setting Goals – what would you like to change?

 

Setting goals benefits us by giving us a sense of purpose, and can also boost our self-confidence. Start small; if you are struggling with depression, you’ll find it is incredibly difficult to motivate yourself. Begin with setting one realistic goal per week. Unrealistic goals will damage your motivation so it’s important to understand what your ability is and what your limits are. Try not to judge yourself on what other people are capable of doing or expect the same (or more) from yourself.

 

Accomplishing small goals are excellent first steps in building confidence and self-esteem. Goal-setting encourages us to be more productive in the long term and deters procrastination.

 

Try writing your goal down on paper which will send a much clearer message to your brain, making your chances of achieving the goal much more likely.
