Anita talks about celebrating uniqueness
In a society where there are so many trends and conformities, often we find ourselves just wanting to fit in. So many times, we fret about what others will think for fear of rejection or judgement, preventing us from shining and showing our true colours.
Things we like, what we think and what we desire are not the same for everyone. Understandably, this can cause conflict, not only with other people but also within ourselves. No matter how hard you try to be like someone else, you can’t be.
We all share some of the same ideas but as humans we are all unique and should never try to emulate other people. Being ‘us’ makes us who we are meant to be. It can be empowering to find strength in being different as being true to yourself brings balance within.
Consider when you feel ‘at ease’ in your own skin. Our uniqueness can be identified all around us; our hobbies and beliefs, sense of humour, genetics, the places and people we chose to be with. Take some time to hone-in on the qualities that make you you. The way you perceive the world and the attitudes you’ve formed are what draw you to people and what draw people to you.
In addition, when you yourself embrace and display your individuality, it can help you to understand that everyone else has a different perspective and preference too. This deeper understanding leads on to truer and more connected relationships.
You are one of a kind!
