Report published following Family Court Review
A damning Government report, identifying significant barriers to the family court's ability to respond consistenty to domestic abuse and other serious offences, including child sexual abuse has been published this week. The report Assessing Risk of Harm to Children and Parents in Private Law Children Cases follows extensive consultation with organisations, survivors and professionals. CARA submitted evidence as part of the review, and this is mentioned several times in the report.
The report includes recommendations to improve family court practice. We very much hope the Government will act on these.
